Our Story
When a well-known sexual assault crisis agency closed its doors in 2009, those of us who would one day establish Bridges to Healing Counseling and Training Center were at a loss. Though we didn't know it at the time, our connection through this agency, and our common philosophies would bind us together in a way we had only dreamed. One thing was clear; this was not the end of our story.
Not yet ready to part ways, we set forth intentions to meet monthly in sisterhood and support. The 5-year long ritual grew into a longstanding tradition, evolved into cherished friendships, and resulted in a covenant of joining forces to further the important work we all believe in so passionately.
A Dream Realized
Our mission at Bridges to Healing is to offer you therapy that promotes psychological wellness and healing, with a particular focus on trauma, oppression and disempowerment. We will work collaboratively with you to emphasize your empowerment as well as a sense of inclusion, validation, safety and equity in your life. We take pride in being a diverse group of therapists who reflect the multiple identities of the communities that we serve. We believe in culturally-competent, anti-oppression, and trauma-informed counseling, and we hope this brings you comfort as you seek us out to access therapy.
